Weekly Discussion Questions

Each Tuesday three discussion questions will be posted to the main course site. Choose one of the questions and answer it in the comments section. The best comments will use information from the week's texts and the student's own opinions to develop a precise answer.  Keep aware of other students comments and feel free to structure your comment as a response to another student in order to cut down on repetition.  See Grading Rubrics for more info.

Word Count: 150 minimum

Due: Every Wednesday by 8pm (unless stated otherwise on Syllabus)

Extra Credit: Notes

On a typical week, Tuesdays will be reserved for lecture and whole class discussion, while Thursdays will be reserved for smaller group work. On lecture days, four students will be assigned to take notes. On these days, it should be understood that no one else should have notebooks and pens or pencils out to take notes. Lectures slides will include bold headings. These headings should be used to organize the notes. It is the job of the students assigned to take notes for that day to fill in the outline with critical information in as clear and succinct a way as possible. Notes should be posted to the course blog by noon of the day after class (this will typically be Wednesday at noon). Once the notes are posted, I will go over them and mark them in two ways: unmarked for correct information, yellow for correct but inaccurate information (lacking clarity or preciseness), and red for wrong information. Please see instructions for posting notes and Grading Rubrics for more information.

Due: Noon the next day (typically Wednesday)
